Some people had checked for updates before Tuesday and found a bunch of intel updates awaiting install one example of that. Dude same, on my HP Intel I3 core laptop, the audio just doesn’t want to play, red x and all. Then I installed the hardware driver provided by manufacturer Dell , which made the speakers work but the internal subwoofer and microphone were dead.

Don’t ask us to compare or recommend products. I installed the Realtek drivers from the HP website which sort of fixed it, except now audio plays out of both my speakers and headphones simultaneously which I didn’t realise and ended up playing Death Grips to the whole library inspirpn a couple of minutes. Sorry this didn’t help. I mean hopefully MS will have fixed the issue before it auto updates again. I’ve searched everywhere, and typed in this subreddit, hoping wudio would exist, and you’ve helped me solve my computer’s issue!

Rraltek had the same exact problem that you are having about a month ago. Dude same, on my HP Intel I3 core laptop, the audio just doesn’t want to play, red x and all. Occasionally the clicks will be replaced by random noise.

In Realtek HD Audio Manager, click the gear icon on the bottom right, and make sure “Mute the internal output device when an external headphone plugged in” is enabled. This means that there are left over driver files from previous driver versions or installation attempts that Windows is 700 and using to set the device up again. I think it was an issue with a windows update. Look for your audio device and delete eell driver. Now I have to get it fixed by pros: I had the aduio problem on omen and used this to solve it. You can go here to make sure you are up to date on drivers and to update drivers when you are not.

Blog spam, link spam, referral spam, joke posts and responses, memes, novelty accounts, trolling, unethical behavior, and personal insults will not be tolerated.

That’s all fine and dandy until you auto-update again and have the exact same problem once again.
